Natural House Cleaning Products Review/Giveaway

Do you know what probiotics are? The dictionary definition is:  usually a dietary supplement containing live bacteria that replace or add to the beneficial bacteria normally present in the gastrointestinal tract. Did you know that cleaning products can use probiotics to do a cleaning job instead of harsh chemicals? This is what I understand about using probiotics in cleaning. The probiotics work on a microbial level producing enzymes which in turn break down odors, grease, oil, food, dirt, waste and paper. The enzymes keep working after applying on a surface continuously for an extended period of time.
Let me give you and example: I clean a counter with household bleach. I then cut chicken on a cutting board. A few droplets of chicken water get on the counter. The counter is contaminated. Will the previously applied bleach clean up the droplets? No, the counter will need sanitised again. Now, I clean the counter with a probiotic cleaner. I then cut my chicken and the same droplets get onto the counter. The enzymes will start breaking down the droplets even before I resanitize the counter. Hmm, gives us something to think about!

 I learned all this neat information at the Natural House website. Natural House has given me a 30 day supply of their fabulous Trashy, Sinky and Flushy natural household cleaning products to review for my readers. I have been using them for two weeks and boy am I happy with the results.

First my favorite. Flushy!!! Yes this has to be the best toilet cleaner I have ever used. I am not exaggerating at all. Why? Well, I live north near the great lakes. Actually we are not even five minutes away from the shore line. My home is in farm country and we do not have sewer access. We actually have a septic system. It's not your traditional septic system it's a mound system which is supposed to protect the water systems in our area. With a mound system we can not put regular cleaning chemicals down our drains. No bleach, harsh detergents, or drain cleaners. I use a lot of vinegar, baking soda and elbow grease when I clean. This is why I was so impressed with flushy. I dropped one packet in my toilet watched it bubble up and waited 5-20 seconds. Then I scrubbed the bowl and flushed the probiotics into my pipes and on to the septic. My toilet was sparkling clean with a light fresh scent. Not only is my toilet clean I just added a probiotic enzyme into my septic system which we have always done on a monthly basis so this is going to eliminate a step and save a little money too.

Sinky is next. I just love sinky for the same reasons I like flushy. I drop one packet once a week into my sink drain, run the hot water on for 5-10 seconds and watch sinkys foaming action. This is awesome for our pipes. We have never been able to use regular drain cleaner in our pipes. From just two weeks of using sinky our bathroom sink drain is no longer slow at draining.



Trashy is last but definitely not least. I sprayed each of our trashcans with trashy and I can hardly believe the difference it has made in the smell. We have a large covered barrel on wheels just out side our back door. This is where we toss all the worst of our trash. The barrel is emptied every two weeks and taken to the dump. I hose out this trash can twice a month. The problem is just a few days after washing it is always stinky. I mean really stinky. Thanks to trashy the smell is so much better. I won't be able to use trashy in this can weekly but I am still happy with the results.
