Identity Theft Protection

I have written a little on this subject in the past. I am always searching for ways to protect myself and family from identity theft. When a thief gains access to a persons personal information this is identity theft. When a thief uses that information to benefit themselves in some way it is considered identity fraud. One way to protect yourself against identity fraud is to monitor your accounts. If you see any unusual activity you should.  investigate. After searching the topic of identity theft protection. I was able to find a kind of insurance called IdentityHawk.
One of the most valuable pieces of personal information a person has is their social security number. Insurance like the one mentioned above would help protect and watch the activity of not only bank accounts and credit cards. But, they would also screen on line use of a persons social security number. I have not decide to take this step yet. Paying for such protection is a big step. I do believe it is a topic to seriously consider discussing with one's family.
