New Moms Need Newborn Necessities

Product #6 in the Baby Shower giveaway line up.
Title: Newborn Necessities
By: Jennifer Cigale

I know you are asking, "Why do we need Newborn Necessities?" Newborn Necessities is a tracking diary for parents to document feedings, wet diapers and poo. When your new baby is born the pediatrician will ask you to keep track of the babies feeding and diaper changes. It is very important information that can help recognize problems that may be developing. If you are breastfeeding your baby it will also help you see how much your baby is eating.

I do recommend this tracking diary as a must have for all new mothers. I am sure many of you are asking "Why can't I keep track myself? I am very experienced in being a new mother and new grandmother. When my first son was born I had never heard of tracking feeding and diaper changes. I remember taking my son to his two week check up. We were having problems nursing and latching. I was exhausted and ready to give up and start formula feeding. The first questions my family Dr. asked was "How often does he nurse? How long are your nursing sessions?"  Finally, How many wet diaper has he had in the last 24 hours?"  I had to guess at each of these answers. I felt like I had failed the new mommy test! Fast forward to my first grandsons birth. My daughter kept a few pages of notes for tracking my grandsons feeding and diaper changes. As the first few days passed by she was exhausted, daddy was exhausted and grandma had joined them in the exhaustion club. Finding the loose sheets of paper that the tracking note were kept on was not fun. When a parent is beyond tired and it's the middle of the night. The baby has nursed every hour for who knows how long. Does any one think they would be able to find the wet diaper chart?

This is where Newborn Necessities steps up and does the hard part for you. Mom and dad will not have to remember what they need to track. Now loose sheets to misplace. The charts are made for you all in one neat package.

What do I like about Newborn Necessities? I like that the charts a large enough to see with out glasses. The book is small enough to keep in the diaper bag. ( Don't forget to take it with you to your babies first doctors appointment.) This is perfect for formula and breastfeeding babies.

  1. How neat!! You come up with the best things.

I think I mentioned we are going to be Grandparents again. The problem is... it has been a long time since I had a baby and I can't remember everything young parents might need. Thank goodness I have you!!

  5. What a fantastic idea! I wish I would have had this when Little Bit was born. You get so confused and overwhelmed those first few months. Especially with a first baby!

  8. This is a great tool for new parents. I wish I would've had something like this when my kids were babies. I had twins and it was often difficult to keep illnesses and symptoms straight.

  11. Just stopping back in to read about Newborn Necessities again. We have a new addition in our extended family and I want to give Becky the name of this, I think it would be really helpful to her. She is nursing as well so doubly helpful.

  12. This is a great idea! When we brought our daughter home from the hospital I started making lists with her feeding times on the computer, but when I wasn't by the computer I would forget to record it. It would have been great to have a book like this then.

  13. I kept a little notebook similar to this around when Son was nursing. I remember having to guess at the diapers and feeding habits of my Daughter, so I knew I was going to have to keep track somehow. :p
I wish I hadn't have had to carry around the big notebook I wrote everything in!
