While the grandchildren were visiting we took them to and animal safari park/petting zoo near by. I have got some lovely memories to share.
We bought a bucket of treats to feed the animals. There were some apples, carrots, potatoes, grapes, corn and lots more. The bucket had a list of what to feed each animal.
All the children still have their fingers intact. I must have had at least a dozen heart attacks when they kept putting their hands in the fences.

Can you believe people actually have to be told this!
They had feeding shoots for the animals that might bite.
I have lots more pictures but I am going to stop boring you. I just want to share one more. I don't want to forget our youngest grandchild. I am always trying to be fair and not leave one out. I know you do not mind just one more photo.
He sure is growing fast! We did not take him to the animal park though. He is just a mite to small for that.
We all had a great time and learned lots about all the animals. The grandchildren all want to do this again next year! Have you visited an animal park or zoo recently? What was your favorite animal? I think the turtle was my favorite. I hope you all enjoy your day.
Oh no, ouch! 6 years ago on Saturday, my now husband and I were in a horrible car accident and I broke my pelvis in 3 places (among several other things) and let me tell ya, that is so incredibly painful! I'll be praying for your friend too. It's bad to be down and in pain.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a great time at the zoo. And don't worry, you can never overload on cute pictures! :P We we're going to be going to he zoo this weekend, but I woke up with an ear infection. No fun. But I really love the Sea Lions our zoo recently got.
I'd love to see a porcupines up close!

They look like they had so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope your friend heals quickly.
So sorry to hear about your friends hip. Hips can take awhile to heal... Hope she heals fast.
ReplyDeletePetting a porcupine could hurt a little. I have had to take dogs to the vet when they thought they could bully a porcupine.
I love the "do not pet the porcupine" sign! How funny is that! I wonder if they put up the sign as a precaution, or because people were petting the porcupines? My favorite zoo animal is the giraffe, just because I love their black tongues. In any case, your grand kids are adorable!

Hi Bonnie, Be careful while painting and standing on chairs (or ladders). I will keep you friend in my prayers. Falling is NO FUN.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the Grands... Petting Zoos are wonderful for little children... Looks like you all had a great time.
Hugs,
Betsy
looks like a fun visit and the kids were definitely having a good time!
ReplyDeletesorry about your friend. I tell my 81 year old dad, everyday...you have to be careful. He refuses to use a cane, but I sure would feel much more comfortable if he did.
blessing to you sweet lady...
Shug
I remember taking my kids to the petting zoo - it was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new grand baby. I think I like him the best...even better than the porcupine sign...lol
ReplyDeleteHope to see pictures of your redo!
Looks like the kids had a blast! When my boys were young, I used to take them to our local petting zoo and one of our most memorable (not fondest) moments was my youngest son getting chased around and bitten by a small pig! They had to remove that pig from the kid enclosure as he/she obviously didn't like kids around! My son is now 22 now and still talks about that :)
