Just recently I was given the opportunity to select an item to review from the Novica.com. Let me tell you I was thrilled. Novica gave me the choice to spend my entire gift certificate on a review item for my blog or spend half and host a giveaway with the other half. So, I chose to share this gift certificate with one of my readers. What is Novica about? I spent hours on their site trying to pick out the perfect gift for myself. I first looked at the Silver Pendant Necklaces of which I might have dropped a dozen or so few subtle hints that one of the necklaces would make a great mothers day gift. Then I picked out a couple handbags. Well, lets just say I could not make up my mind on which one I liked best. After an hour I started looking at the wool shawls. There were only ten or more I like enough to purchase. Finally I settled on an olive silk shawl. The description was what made me settle on this beauty.

"Beautiful in its traditional artistry, this shawl is adorned with myriad black paisleys dancing on golden olive brown. The stylish wrap is woven on a jacquard loom with authentic Banarasi silk."

The description sounds so poetic. The shawl arrived in a beautiful gift bag. I felt like it was Christmas.

Included in the package was a post card with a hand written note from the artist that made the shawl. A gift card and description card was also included.

I really love the colors of this shawl. Olive will be easy to match with several outfits. The material is a very soft silk.

What do I like about this product? The craftsmanship is perfect. I can not find any flaws in the product.

What do I not like about the product? It is easy to snag. That is not a flaw in the product because any silk material is easy to snag.  So, this is not a complaint it is just a warning.

It's an UGLEE Pen

I have got not one, not two but three Uglee pens. Yes, three very Uglee pens. I am so happy to review this amazing ergonomic pen. The Uglee pen was invented and designed by a real physician. I have used this pen for several days and I can not even find the words to tell you how much this pen makes a difference in my writing. The pen is comfortable to hold. It is amazingly easy to grip and hold on to for extended periods of time. I have tried a few other pens that have the cushion gripers. I usually found them bulky and hard to write with smoothly. The Uglee pen weighs only 11 grams. The grip is contoured to follow the anatomy of the hand.

When I review a product on my blog I like to use a product for several days. Sometimes I use the product for a couple weeks. While using the product being used I like to take notes. I have a pen and pad handy at all times for this purpose. My only problem with note taking is I hold pens too tightly. This causes my hand and fingers to ache when writing for even a few minutes. I am sure for many it would be easier to keep their notes on the computer. But, since I watch Pooh Bear during the day I can not easily jump on the computer to keep my notes. If I wait until later, I will surly forget my thoughts on the product. When I started using the Uglee pen I was amazed that I had a comfortable hold on the pen and did not have to hold the pen so tight. No more pain!!

What do I like most about this product? It is so Uglee I won't have to worry about the little elf's snatching it. Seriously, I like the 11grams of lightness and the cushion contoured grip.

What do I not like about the product? A little elf already snatched one of my new pens. It must not be Uglee enough!

Elephant Poo! How Green Are You?

I like green I really do. Any product that is environmentally friendly is something I want to use. I do not mind spending a little more on green products, organic products or made in USA products. What does this have to do with elephant poo? Shoplet.com has given me a some wonderful environmentally friendly paper products to review. I just love Eco friendly office supplies. The first product right out of the box was a small journal Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo Paper!  Yes, This paper is made from recycled elephant poo.

I decided to do some research about elephant waste. Here are a few facts that I learned. Elephants eat on average 500 lbs of food a day. Elephants do not digest well. Their waste is full of fiber. They produce about 110lbs of poo a day. That's a lot of poo! Fiber is used to make paper. It makes a lot of sense to make paper out of elephant poo. 110lbs of poo makes about 15 sheets of paper! No nasty chemicals and no cutting down trees. Now I call that sustainability!

The poo paper is soft and smooth on the front side. The back of each page has a little fibrous texture to the touch. This journal is from the Inspire collection. The one I got is "be the CHANGE".

What did I like about this product? It's odorless and Eco friendly.
What do I not like about this product? Hmm, think think, think. I can't find any I don't like about this product.

Can we top poo paper?

The next product up for review would be a Roaring Spring Environotes Sugarcane Notebook!

Will Sugarcane paper top the poo paper? 

Sugarcane paper is made from bagasse. Bagasse is the waste product left over from making sugar from sugarcane. I like the fact that it is environmentally friendly and a sustainable paper product. While researching this product I learned that "one average sized tree can provide oxygen for a family of four for one year." Wow, we need to save trees!

The pages are wire bound, light weight with a silky smooth feel.

These note pads do not have perforated pages. When I see one that does not have the easy tear out perforated pages I look at the sturdiness of the wire binding. I tore out a few pages together and the binding remained intact. There were no signs of stress.

What do I like about this product? I love the Eco friendliness, the soft silky feel of the pages and it's made in the USA!! 

What do I not like about this product? I did not find any dislikes about this product. I actually want a few more of these little gems for my blogging notes.

Which paper came out on top? 

They both are running neck and neck. I have to declare a tie to this Eco friendly race.

Last product folks. I saved my favorite for last. Why? Pink, purple and blue that 's why! Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook – 3 Subject. I love, love, love pink! I am hiding this treasure. It's all for me. One hundred twenty sheets of recycled colored paper. We are still talking environmentally friendly.

The features of this note pad are, perforated edges, durable vinyl cover, heavy duty back and one durable pocket.

My favorite features, clean tearing and beautiful bright colors.



What do I like most about this product? It's Eco Friendly, colorful, and made in the USA.
What do I not like about this product? It's too cute to share. It is making me selfish. I want it all to my self.
