Tea Reviewing Party

When I found out that Grandma Bonnie's Closet was going to be reviewing organic Numi Tea from Shoplet.com I was thrilled to my toes. I could hardly wait for my package to arrive. While waiting I planned to have a tea tasting party. Now, you know how much I wanted to try all the different flavors. I knew I would have eight flavors to try and I am only reviewing three flavors. So, that is why I planned a tasting party in order to share this experience with my family.
My package arrived today!

The carton is made of 85% post-consumer waste and the bags are made of biodegradable filter paper.

Ok, now I feel like a child in a candy shop. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to try first. I actually had a sip of each flavor.
I settled on one of my familiar flavors. Numi Chamomile Lemon Tea is what I chose for my first taste test.
I opened the package and inhaled a burst of citrus and an undertone reminiscent of green herbs. I allowed the bag to brew for 5 to 6 minutes. Brewing allowed a deep lemony citrus flavor to emerge.

What did I like about this flavor? Mmm, this was a treat for all my senses. A very relaxing aroma.
What I did not like about this flavor? Well, I can't think of anything I don't like about this flavor. It was great!
My daughter also had a hard time settling on one flavor. Finally, after a little debate she chose Numi Orange Spice Tea. Upon opening the packet a delightful scent of citrusy orange drifted into the air. While sipping her choice she claimed the flavor was tangy with a hint of a clove like spice.
I had a couple sips in order to make a fair judgment. What did I like about this flavor? It tasted tart. I like all things tart or sour. I like the scent and flavor of clove so this was just right for me. What I did not like was the strong orange flavor. In all fairness my daughter said she enjoyed this flavor.
While writing this review I have been leisurely sipping on a cup of Numi Moroccan Mint Tea. What a pleasure this review was to write! If you are starting to feel a little jealousy creeping in. Just stop on over and pick up some office supplies while you are there add your favorite flavor of tea right into your cart. Soon you will be enjoying a cup while writing your reviews.

What did I like about this final flavor? I enjoyed the minty sweet fragrance and delighted in the unexpected bold taste.
What I did not like about the flavor? I tasted a brassy undertone. I believe I allowed the bag to over steep.

I received the above mentioned products to review from Shoplet.com in exchange for an honest review. No monetary compensation was received.

  12. I have never been to a tea party, but it looks like fun! :) I don't drink hot tea very often, but when I do it's always Earl Grey. Shopping for a new kind of tea always seems so overwhelming. There are so many to chose from, and I never know what they will end up tasting like! What a wonderful review post! :)
