Important Fitbit One Follow Up

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Boomer Voices program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

This post is long over due. I have had a little struggle writing this blog post. I have not been sure how I wanted to approach this subject. As most of my friends and readers know I usually do not write about my health. I like to write about happy subjects such as my sweet grandchildren, recipes, DIY projects and lots of product reviews. You may have noticed I have not written much lately except about the products I have accepted for review. I have been having some health issues that have taken away some of my computer time.

Over the last six months I have been privileged to wear a Fitbit One wireless activity tracker. I have enjoyed the perks of keeping up with my exercise, diet and sleep tracking. While wearing the Fitbit One I have been able to see why I have been so tired and exhausted during my waking hours. I was able to see how restless my sleep really was. I shared this information with my doctor and we came up with a plan to help improve my sleep. After following the suggestions my doctor made I continued to track my sleep with the Fitbit One. I had some improvement to be sure. The suggestions seemed to help with my daytime energy levels. I still felt that I was not getting enough rest and would run out of energy early in the day. Not being able to focus on normal daily tasks and falling a sleep at the computer where just a few of the symptoms I have been experiencing.
Once again I printed off the sleep record my Fitbit One provided. With this information in hand I made a follow up appointment with my family doctor. After looking over my sleep record, my doctor has decided we need to run some tests. He suspects Sleep Apnea might be what is causing part of my health problems. I will keep you updated with the test results in the near future.
I want to thank Verizon Wireless for allowing me to be a part of the Verizon Boomer Voices Program and for the amazing Fitbit One they have provided for review. As the Verizon Boomer Voices Program comes to an end I am going to miss being a part of this awesome group and the wonderful service Verizon has provided. I expect to remain a loyal customer for many years to come.
You can read my past post about the Fibit One and all it can do here.

  1. It's great you have a doctor that is thoughtful with the information you provide. I hope that your sleep continues to improve and that the tests are helpful.

  2. Sounds like sleep apnia could be the culprit. Hope all goes well and you can pinpoint the problem. Your device sounds like it's doing a good job!

  3. Hi Bonnie, Are you ready for Christmas? We are ---and are just relaxing and enjoying the season now---after all of our travels. I'm sorry to hear that you may have Sleep Apnea---but at least, that can be treated. I don't know if you are overweight or not (I used to be)--but they say that losing weight can help. My ex-hubby had sleep apnea (and used some kind of breathing equipment at nights) ---but has lost a lot of weight (he was quite large). His Sleep Apnea is GONE…. He feels so much better!

    Merry Christmas.
    Hugs

  4. My Hubs was having a lot of sleep issues too. He is using the CPAP now but we are not sure at this point if it is really working or not. Time will tell.
I hope your sleep continues to improve. Nothing is worse than no sleep.
