Our Grandchildren Are Growing Up Too Fast

Over the last few months we have traveled back and fourth  to see our grand children. You know I like visiting my grandchildren at any opportunity. From Thanksgiving until New Years we made two trips south to see our granddaughters and two trips west to see our grandsons. In between we visited with Little Bug who lives near us. I just thought I would share with you a few pictures of the grands and our travel photos. They sure are growing up so fast.

Out Christmas shopping with my granddaughters. We had to sit and take a break.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Have you traveled any where lately?

Wordless Wednesday

While traveling north much of what we saw was farm country. I caught a few barn photos. One of my favorite blogging friends, Chatty Crone suggested I post the photos because you might enjoy their beauty. So, here they are.

Happy Wednesday!!

My Trip Home

I really want to thank all the wonderful visitors I had this week to my blog. Thank you all for your sweet comments. I am still reading them and will visit your blogs in return.  Thank you Becky Jane from Rise Above Your Limits for the wonderful guest post and Thanks to my daughter in law for the Halloween Costume guest post from Life with Tootsabella and The Rose .
I had a great week and got a lot of work done at home. My flower garden is looking much better and the one lonely hen is happy with her fresh and clean coop. Grandpa had a little break from babysitting and I got to babysit my youngest grandson Little Bug.  Pooh Bear and his mom also came with me home so we had a houseful again. I don't know about any of my blogging friends but grandpa and I are at our happiest when our house is full of laughter and noise.  Here are some more photos from our trip. Please enjoy and have a great week.
Pooh Bear did great no episodes of motion sickness. Yay!
My Little Bug enjoying our visit to feed the deer!
Both Grandsons enjoying our new deck that grandpa built.
My Little Bug trying to untie the safety gate so they can get into mischief.

Traveling While Potty Training!

We are back from our little trip. Traveling with a toddler in potty training can be done with just a little effort.. Sure, it was not easy. We had some big bumps in the road this weekend. When we started our trip I knew not everything would go as planned but, I was not expecting any big issues. Driving was not a problem. We stopped often for potty breaks and had no accidents. My grandson understood he had to sit on the potty each time we stopped and he did fantastic.
Where did we run into trouble you ask? Well, once we arrived at Grandma Bonnie(that's me) and Grandpa's house the fun began!
First, I will let you in on a secrete Grandma and Grandpa's house is the family gathering place. At any given time you will find babies, toddlers and children through out our house. My grandson arrived to find three toddlers his own age and a newborn baby. The entire weekend consisted of play, swim, sleep and eating.
In the beginning of the weekend we offered to take him to the potty. Each offer was met with a simple refusal.
In the middle of our weekend we started to insist on taking him to the potty. This was met with tears and pleading no, no. We finally gave up and put him in pull ups.
I  just wonder was it the strange bathroom , was it all the fun and excitement  or just maybe everything was  too overwhelming.
Today, my grandson is back home and happily using the potty! With no lasting side effects from our little trip.
I welcome any tips or advice when it comes to traveling with a toddler in potty training. Until next week, good luck to all you potty trainers.

Our Potty Training Adventure continues...

So on we go with our potty training adventure! We had a few bumps this week. Along with each bump in the road we had many more successes. My grandson is handling the potty like a pro when it comes to pooping in the potty. Any one who is in charge of changing diapers can attest to the fact it's much easier to clean up a poopy potty chair than to clean up a toddlers poopy bottom. The only time we put a diaper on my grandson is when he is napping or going to bed. So as far as we can see he is almost completely trained. This weekend we are going on a long trip. We are taking the potty chair with us in the car. When ever we stop to eat, stretch our legs, or get gas we will sit him on the potty. I don't expect any problems since he usually stays dry two or more hours at a time during the day.
Until next week. Wishing the best to all those who are working on potty training.
