Two Weeks Of Pure Happiness

We have been given our two sweet granddaughters for not one but two weeks of summer vacation! This is what I have been waiting for all summer. I have been planning this two weeks for almost a year now. I can hardly believe that our summer vacation has arrived. I know it sounds like work not vacation. I feel like it is a vacation of pure pleasure to have my grandchildren in my home. I am hoping my grandsons will be here to visit at some point during these next two weeks. It has been almost impossible to get all the grandchildren together for a family photo. I am hoping we can do this at least once a year. Well, I have got to go for now but I will leave you with a few photos of our vacation so far.
Sweet Pea and Pumpkin feeding the goats.
 Some serious painting going on.
Taking a break in the pool after helping grandma weed the garden.
Sweet Pea dancing for grandma and grandpa.
Pumpkin making a nature collage.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. There are will be a lot more to come.

Travel Time

We are going on a little vacation! Pooh Bear, Poohs mommy, Grandpa and I are going to visit Sweet Pea and Pumpkin. I am so excited to make this trip. We have not seen our granddaughters since Christmas. I will keep you posted with pictures this week while we travel. It is going to be a long two day trip. Pooh Bear gets motion sick so we will be stopping often. We have learned to stop once an hour for ten to fifteen minutes no less than that.  We have found out the hard way you don't just stop for five minutes then go on. If we do then we had better plan to clean the car, car seat, and any person near Pooh Bears reach. Not, fun at all. We will try to take advantage of his nap. Nap time means no stopping for potty breaks.
Pooh Bear and I made a little lap desk for the car. He loves playing with his little animals, people and cars while we are traveling. I am forever picking up his toys when they fall off his car seat. I usually have to ask him to wait until we stop before I can pick up his favorite toys. So, I helped him make a lap desk out of a coke carton. The high wall should keep his toys contained. He painted with a little help from me. He wanted a road, a pond and some trees for his cars and people. Then he asked for a house so I glued two small boxes for a house and garage. We also glued a cut paper towel roll for a tunnel. I sure hope it keeps him busy. I put a couple layers of mod podge over the paint. I want it to make it through the round trip.

I have packed lots of healthy and easy to eat foods for our trip. No fast food just lots of healthy vegetables, fruits, cheese and a few snacks. I even made some mini apple pies for our dessert.

I invite you to stop by tomorrow for an interesting giveaway posting Friday evening. If you travel with toddlers or small children you will definitely want to enter this up coming giveaway.
Have a great week everyone!

Disney Vacation!!

My granddaughters are on vacation in Disney World. I wish I could have joined them. I have been assured they are having a blast! I have a few photos to share. Sorry about the poor quality and grainy texture. The photos went from cellphone to cellphone and then emailed to my computer. I love the photos any way.

I think Sweet Pea was not so sure about these so call princesses. It looks like Pumpkin was impressed to meet her favorite princesses. I hope you all have a great weekend. If you have not already entered the following giveaways please feel free to do so.

Our Disney Trip

I have been thinking about our trip to Disney all week. Our family planned this trip almost a year ago. We now have three months and one day left before our vacation begins. I had not put much thought into our trip until this week. Our family is not planning to stay in one of the deluxe disney hotels. We have reserved a house a few miles from the park. I really would have liked to stay at one of the nice resorts but our group decided a house would be a better choice for such a large group. Planning our vacation and the itinerary has been fun and very easy. I went to the Disney website and used their great tools to create and print out our own map of attractions we plan to visit. Our list of attractions to visit is fairly long so we will be visiting the park a couple days at least. We also plan to visit the famous Disney's Board Walk and enjoy the scenic view along Crescent Lake. Even though we have planned most of our trip around the family, I have scheduled some free time for my husband and I. We hope to find a nice romantic restaurant where we can enjoy a candle light dinner one evening.  Over all, I  hope we will have a wonderful family vacation to remember forever.

My Trip Home

I really want to thank all the wonderful visitors I had this week to my blog. Thank you all for your sweet comments. I am still reading them and will visit your blogs in return.  Thank you Becky Jane from Rise Above Your Limits for the wonderful guest post and Thanks to my daughter in law for the Halloween Costume guest post from Life with Tootsabella and The Rose .
I had a great week and got a lot of work done at home. My flower garden is looking much better and the one lonely hen is happy with her fresh and clean coop. Grandpa had a little break from babysitting and I got to babysit my youngest grandson Little Bug.  Pooh Bear and his mom also came with me home so we had a houseful again. I don't know about any of my blogging friends but grandpa and I are at our happiest when our house is full of laughter and noise.  Here are some more photos from our trip. Please enjoy and have a great week.
Pooh Bear did great no episodes of motion sickness. Yay!
My Little Bug enjoying our visit to feed the deer!
Both Grandsons enjoying our new deck that grandpa built.
My Little Bug trying to untie the safety gate so they can get into mischief.

Our Koi pond.

Vacation Photos

Just a few photos from our trip. I will post about our trip home later today.

Going Home For A Little Vacation!

Grandma is going home for a short but deserved vacation. At least I think it's deserved. What I really meant by vacation is I am going home to get some work done around the house. That sounds like a fun vacation right? I need to weed some flower beds. Stain the new deck that grandpa just built and maybe even clean the chicken coop. That all sounds like a fun vacation now doesn't that! You see I babysit my grandson in another state so it's like having a full time job away from home. I get home a weekend or two during the month but this time it's going to be a whole week. Yay! Now you can guess how busy I am. Grandpa on the other hand is just as busy. He is taking care of our home, babysits our second grandson, and has a full time job on the side.  Now to the vacation part. While taking care of my grandson is a pleasure I love being out doors so going home and working out side for a week will be a nice change. This week while I am gone from my blogging world I have lined up two guest post for my bloggy friends. I might stop back in for a bit but I will be out more than in for sure.  Please enjoy their posts and stop over to check out their blogs. Hope you all have a great week.
