Has Anyone Seen My Pen?

How many times have you asked that question? When I am in search of my favorite pen I can usually find it with my daughter. My daughter has been collecting pens since she was about 4 years old. If you have a question about a certain style of pen she will most likely know the answer.
A few days ago I received a package in the mail form Shoplet.com. The Package contained an assortment of pens.
My packages normally arrive while my daughter is at work. Well this package happened to arrive while she was home. When I opened the package my daughter’s eyes lit up like it was Christmas. The first pen she noticed was a Sharpie Premium Pen.
I was able to bribe my daughter for her honest opinion of the pen in trade for keeping the pen. I value her opinion greatly when it comes to pens.
What did we learn about this Sharpie pen? This is not a ballpoint pen! The ink runs smoothly making clean clear lines. The ink is permanent and smear resistant.
What did we like most about this product? The pen is refillable and smear resistant two big factors in a good pen.
What did we not like about the product? It would have been nice to have a cushion grip.

Next in the package was a 4 pack of Paper Mate InkJoy 700 RT Ballpoint Pens.
While this pen did not impress my daughter as much as the previous pen it sure did make a great impression on me. I have a touch of arthritis in my hands. So I like an easy to hold and write with pen. The first thing I noticed was the cushion grip. The InkJoy system is supposed to require minimal pressure from your hand when writing. It also starts quickly without dragging. I have been writing with this pen for a couple days now and it writes cleanly and needs very little effort to hold and write clearly. Another interesting feature about this pen. The tip of the pen is covered with wax. This prevents the pen from drying out. You remove the wax before its first use.
What did I like most about this product? I like that my hands did not ache after writing all day.
What did I not like about the product? The pen is slim and I like a chubby pen for better grip.

Finally the last item in my package was a 3 pack of Sharpie Gel Highlighters.
I was thrilled to try this product. I have been teaching my grandson preschool lessons for a while now and I have put the highlighters to good use. I love being able to highlight the alphabet letters that I have written in permanent markers. The gel has not smeared or bled through paper.
What did I like most about this product? The package stated the markers will not dry out for days when left uncapped.
I left the cap off for half a day. The marker worked just perfect after several hour. This is a great feature for those of us who are forgetful.
If you would like to see more products like these stop over to Shoplet.com and see their great selection of office supplies.
Disclosure:
I received the above mentioned products to review from Shoplet.com in exchange for an honest opinion.

Organic, Holistic pH Balanced Moisturizer

I am on a quest to find an organic moisturizer for my dry hands. I have been given the opportunity to try Made From Earth  pH Balanced Moisturizer.
At first when I saw the bottle I thought the lotion might be a a little runny. I like thick and creamy. As you can see in the next photo the moisturizer is thick and creamy. It feels silky soft and not greasy to the touch.
I like the idea of using organic skin care products. I want my skin to be healthy and soft. With the pH balanced moisturizer my hands are on their way to feeling softer everyday.
The moisturizer is made with blend of Vitamin A, B5 and E Acetate to promote skin cell renewal and collagen formation. With this blend it makes a great moisturizer for under for use under concealers, foundations and mineral makeup.

What did I like about this product? Its organic and made in the USA.

Olives Make A Healthy Snack

Mario Snack Olives come in convenient resealable snack size pouches. Each pouch contains about 100 calories worth of olives. I am excited that the snack olives come in three tasty flavors.
I have tried each flavor and I decided that the Kalamata seasoned with thyme is my favorite.
I let each of my family members taste the flavors. My daughter loves black olives but does not like green olives. Well, after tasting each flavor she decided the Pitted Green Olives seasoned with thyme and garlic was her favorite. Now for the final flavor which is green pitted olives seasoned with thyme and chili did not go over well with any of my adult children or grandchildren.
I was not thwarted by their dislike of the chili flavor. I decided to test the olives in different foods. I am sure you all remember Papas Salad. Well, I made his salad and what do you know. Not one person noticed the chili flavored olives.

Mario Snack Olives are Packed loose with out the juice. They are kept moist with a light coat of olive oil.

Decorating a Tangled (Rapunzel) Bedroom

I would like to Welcome My Daughter-in-law to Grandma Bonnie's Closet. I hope you all enjoy her post.
Hello, I am from Tootsabella and The Rose and I am guest posting here today at Grandma Bonnie's Closet. You can visit my blog at tootsabellarose.blogspot.com. My husband and I recently bought our first home. It is perfect in every way for our family. The girls each have their own bedroom for when they are older. They share one now because they are so young and want to be in the same room. The other room serves as a toy room. One thing about the house is that the paint job is terrible. I always joke with my husband that the 4 yr old who lived in the house before us painted it. Regardless, we are in the process of repainting the home to make it us. We started with the girls room. After all, it was the biggest eyesore in the house. My four yr old didn't even want to redo the room because it was so ugly. She didn't realize you can transform a room. This is how we did it. We had to figure out a theme. Both of my daughter's like the movie Tangled which is the new Disney Rapunzel movie. We now have a theme. I really got into it, designing every little detail. Everything in the room represents something from the movie. I am really glad we set this theme because we can put modern flair into it, give it some ambiance, and humor all while keeping it geared towards a younger age. The best thing of all is that we kept it Disney and cartoon like without making it gaudy. Our creation is not finished yet. There is still more to be done. I have many more ideas up my sleeve for this amazing space. Enjoy our pics!

This is what the room looked like when we bought the house. Who would have thought to make a blue room with that nasty fan!!

Working on the paint job.

Under the pascal ceiling light pic type "The first thing we did was  rip that fan out. Unfortunately it had to have a pull string, but we worked around that setback and it looks great!"

For more pictures of my girls' Rapunzel room, visit my blog at tootsabellarose.blogspot.com. There you will find more detailed pictures and more things found around the room that you haven't seen yet. Wait till you see the windows and doors!!! Hurry over. Thank you for visiting Grandma Bonnie's Closet and reading my guest post! Remember, I will be updating my blog as it is being finished. I also will be posting more rooms in our home as we repaint and decorate our new home. Thanks again for visiting!

Storyland Yoga For Kids(DVD)

When I first applied to review the Storyland Yoga DVD I was wondering what yoga for young children would be like. I was not sure a three year old would want to follow along with a yoga instructor on a DVD. First thing I did when the DVD arrived in the mail was to try it our right then and there. I popped it into the player and waited to see what Pooh Bears response would be. He was busy with puzzles at the time. It took about a minute and Pooh Bear was on the floor following along with the other children in the DVD.
I really like the way yoga is introduced to young children on this DVD. The instructor tells a story to the children and the children follow along participating in the story. The first story is a Condor Trek. The children imitate animals while learning yoga poses. The second story is Save the Whale. Pooh Bear love this story. I had to replay it twice for him. I wanted to help save the whale. the entire time the DVD was playing Pooh Bear was exercising with out realising it.

Just a little more about the DVD. Storyland Yoga is for children 3-8 years old. I think it even might be suitable for children a little older perhaps if played in a group setting. The Storyland Yoga for Kids is an award winning DVD. Awards include  Parent’s Choice Approved, Mom’s Choice Gold,Dr. Toy’s Best Green Product and Creative Child Magazine “Preferred Choice.
What did I like about this product? I like that the packaging is made from 100% recycled material. The story teaches childern to be eco-conscious. It's a fun way to get exercise.

Black Berry Cobbler

If you have read my blog very long you know how much I like baking and making deserts. Well, while out visiting my blogging friends I found a new blog to read and follow.  Just Between You And Me. I tried the Blackberry Cobbler recipe she has posted here. My oh my what a tasty treat this cobbler is. The recipe is simple and easy to follow. I made a few changes. First I did not have fresh blackberries so  I use a can of blackberry pie filling. Second the pie filling was very sweet so I used only a 1/8 of a cup of sugar on the top. I hope you all stop over and get her recipe.

Have a great day.

Golf Shirt Review

Truly I am not a golf fan. I just like cute or funny t-shirts on my sons. I have three great sons and they are always trying to find unique or funny t-shirts. They are always trying to out do each other. So, when I was given the opportunity to review an affordable golf shirt I decided to go for it.

These golf shirts are made of 100% cotton. The shirt is soft, comfortable and heavy weight. If you have hard working sons like I do. Its important that their shirts are heavy weight to stand up to the beating they will give them.

What did I like most about this product? I like that it is a full length shirt. The sleeves are not a 1/4 cap sleeve but a full length short sleeve.
What did I not like about this product? When I applied to review the golf shirts they were discribed as hilarious golf shirts. I am sure some golf fans might think that the theme of this shirt was funny but I did not think it was that funny.  Although I did like a few other golf shirts on the site that I considered funny.
